The history of the Peterborough Media Groups starts in the mid-nineteen eighties with the founding of PELADON - the Peterborough local area Doctor Who club. By the early nineteen nineties telefantasy had expanded considerably in the wake of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Okay, while some series didn't last long, or underwent changes in order to stay on the box, some like the X Files and Babylon 5 stayed with us. To match this expansion of the T.V. scene, Peladon became Nth Dimension.
They didn't forget Dr. Who though. They organised two single-day conventions focusing on the authors of the (then new) Virgin New Adventures, many of the writers having since gone on to great things. Also, members of the group became extra's in a number of the videos that were shot around that time, including The Airzone Solution and The Zero Imperative.
In 1994 a team made-up of Nth Dimension and Peterborough SF Club members won the years Telly Addicts Championship under the name of 'Warrior's Gate'. Members of the triumphant squad received mentions in the credits of reference books about Dr. Who and The Avengers. The team Captain, Allen Adams, co-wrote the Babylon 5 Security Manual.
The members of the group have helped out at a number of Media Conventions at various levels from Gophers to Committee Members. This was most notable at the first Trek Dwarf conventions and then over the last few years at the successful Cult TV conventions.
While more specialised Star Trek and other groups have started in Peterborough, Nth Dimension have remained the senior and most important group.
