STNG: Romulan Challenge board game

This was bought from a remainder bookshop on a whim and with a wish to pass an evening. The game consists of Federation Starships having to liberate up to 12 planets from a dastardly Romulan attempt to conquer them. This means that the ships have to dash about the board, regularly returning to home base, collecting resource cards, (you need two to free a world), and also responding to challenge cards. These can involve answering a multi-choice question on Trek, or having to return to home and losing some resource cards. Therefore it helps to know something about Trek to play the game but not essential as luck with the dice is also important.

No explanation is given as to why the Federation ships are competing and not co-operating, perhaps the game would work better as a Babylon 5 game, with each piece representing a different race.

It took us about two hours to play the game, which, at less than five quid, was well worth the dosh.
